USC football punter arrested

The Gamecock's starting punter Sean Kelly was arrested last week, The State reports. Kelly is charged with public disorderly conduct, trespassing and malicious injury to a tree. Head coach Will Muschamp said Sunday that the issue will be taken care of "in program" and that the senior will not miss any games. Kelly was released on bond.

Man injured at Upstate racetrack

A man was struck by flying debris at Anderson Motor Speedway, WIS reports. The man, identified as Jared Griffith, required surgery after being hit in the face by a part of a car that flew off. Griffith posted an account of the incident to his Facebook and said a friend was also injured in the incident. A statement from the Speedway said they are investigating the accident.

Passenger killed in Sumter accident

One person died in a crash on Boulevard Road in Sumter County, WLTX reports. The accident occurred when an SUV went off the road and struck a tree Saturday evening, killing the passenger. The driver of the vehicle was treated at a local hospital and didn't have life-threatening injuries, and South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
