Anderson woman wins lawsuit against Target

An Anderson woman was awarded $4.6 million in a lawsuit against Target, WLTX reports. The suit was based on an incident where the woman was stuck by a hypodermic needle her daughter found in the store's parking lot. The woman had to take medicine for HIV as a precaution, though she did not contract any diseases from the needle, and she had an adverse reaction to the drugs. A jury awarded the mother this punitive settlement after the company rejected a $12,000 settlement offer.
