Trustus director resigns

The executive director of Columbia's only professional theater company resigned, effective immediately, Friday, The Free Times reports. Leila Ibrahim had the position for less than a year, and the company's press release on the move didn't provide a specific reason. The company has not named an interim director, but rather is convening a committee to debate changes to their leadership system.

Richland County voting official held in contempt

A Richland County official was held in contempt of court Friday, WIS reports. Samuel Selph, the county's director of Voter Registration and Elections, was in court over an unpaid legal bill. The Voter Registration and Elections office is accused of not paying a $38,000 legal bill stemming from work on a wrongful termination suit by a former director. The bill was issued in 2015, but has not been included in any budgets.

Arrests made in Cayce robberies

A man was arrested in connection with a string of armed robberies in Cayce, WLTX reports. 18-year-old D'andre R. Bloome is charged with two counts of armed robbery. He also faces one count of attempted armed robberies. The three incidents took place at a convenience store, a Bi-Lo grocery store and a Pizza Hut throughout August.
