Elementary school shooting victim remains in critical condition

A 6-year-old shot at an elementary school in Anderson, South Carolina, is still in critical condition, The State reports. The boy was shot in the leg, and the bullet struck the femoral artery. According to a friend of the family, the child had to be revived twice. Another 6-year-old was shot in the foot and a teacher in the shoulder Wednesday when a teenager opened fire at Townville Elementary School.

Planned Parenthood endorses SC Democrat

Richland County Democrat Tyler Gregg accepted the endorsement of Planned Parenthood on Thursday, The State reports. The women's rights group's Planned Parenthood South Atlantic PAC made the endorsement on the steps of the Statehouse. This was the first time the powerful political operation made an endorsement in a South Carolina legislative race. Gregg is running against Republican Kirkman Finlay.

Cayce officials release photos from burglary

Officials in Cayce released surveillance photos in connection with a burglary, WIS reports. The incident in question occurred at a home off Bluff Road on Tuesday. The person is suspected of stealing a backpack and a purse containing cash and credit cards. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimestoppers at 1-888-Crime-SC.
