Shooting at SC elementary school injures three

Anderson County officials have confirmed a shooting at an elementary school in Townville, South Carolina. The shooter is in custody, and at least two students were injured, according to CNN.

One of the injured children has been transported by helicopter to a local hospital.

The Greenville News reports that a man was found dead near the school.

Townville Elementary School has 286 students.

UPDATE: Parents are asked to go to Oakdale Church on Highway 24 to pick up their children.

UPDATE: WYFF News reports that a teacher was also injured.

UPDATE: Authorities say the suspect killed his father before shooting three at the school. The two injured students are both six years old. They were shot in the leg and foot respectively, and the teacher was shot in the shoulder. Both students were transported from the school by medical helicopter but are expected to fully recover. 

Anderson County Schools will be closed for the rest of the week.
