A fight between residents at the Granby Mills apartment complex ended in a shooting around 1 a.m today. No one was injured.

Richard Gainey III and Harlen Shumaker, the shooters, were detained by Columbia police and face charges. The two are not USC students, according to university spokesperson Jeff Stensland. Gainey was part of the university's bridge program last year.

According to WIS, the two were roommates and were fighting with other residents outside the complex. The two went inside to retrieve guns and went back outside and started fighting again. They were accused of firing their guns into the air.

Both 19-year-olds are charged with pointing and presenting a firearm, discharging a firearm in city limits and unlawful carrying of a pistol.

University police officers assisted with the investigation.
