A female USC student was the victim of a carjacking around 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Rivers Edge apartments.
The suspect, who forcibly removed the student from the vehicle before taking her keys and driving away with her car, was described as a "tall black male" who wore a gray hoodie and gray pants, according to the online USC crime bulletin.
The stolen car is a "silver 2015 Toyota RAV4 with a Virginia license plate."
The Columbia Police Department (CPD) is investigating the incident, according to the crime bulletin. The Daily Gamecock has reached out to CPD public information officer Jennifer Timmons for comment.
