COVID-19 dashboard update: Total active cases up to 165

USC is now facing 165 active cases of COVID-19 on campus, according to the most recent update of the university's COVID-19 dashboard.

128 of the current active cases are students and 37 are employees. Since Jan. 1, 187 students, faculty and staff members have contracted COVID-19. 

USC tested 6,214 people between Jan. 5 to Jan. 7, with an overall positive rate of 1.97%. 

4,339 of those tested were students and 1,875 were employees. Students had a positive rate of 2.31% and employees had a rate of 1.35%.

Testing schedules and locations, which include the Student Health Center and Carolina Coliseum, can be found on the university's COVID-19 website.

Those experiencing symptoms should make a telemedicine appointment through MyHealthSpace.

Of the 600 quarantine and isolation spaces, 1.14% of the spaces are in use. 

The alert level is at 0.30, still the "new normal." The alert level is calculated using 11 factors, including campus testing, campus case burden and isolation and quarantine capacity. 

The COVID-19 dashboard will be updated every Tuesday and Friday.
