COVID-19 on campus: Dashboard reports decrease from 37 to 34 total active cases since last Tuesday

The updated COVID-19 dashboard reports a total of 34 active COVID-19 cases.

Of the total cases, 27 are student cases, and seven are employee cases. The number of cases has decreased since the 37 cases reported last Tuesday.

Between Oct. 3 and Oct. 9, USC conducted 3,340 tests.

Of the 3,340 tests, 2,788 were student tests with a positive rate of 0.8%. The other 552 tests were employee tests with a positive rate of 0.7%.

Since Aug. 1, there have been 1,451 positive COVID-19 cases.

Students and faculty can find their testing schedules and locations for this week on the university’s COVID-19 website. Testing will be done at the Student Health Center, the Carolina Coliseum, 1311 Pendleton Street and the basement of Russell House.

As of Oct. 9, it is estimated the vaccination rate on campus is around 67% total between students, faculty and staff. The student vaccination rate is around 66.6%, the faculty vaccination rate is around 75.9% and the staff vaccination rate is around 64.5%.

The alert level is at 0.20 and is set between the “new normal” and “low” levels. The alert level is based on 11 factors, including campus testing, isolation capacity and campus case burden.
