The Vista witnessed two deaths on Saturday night: Officer Stacy Case of Columbia Police Department and an unidentified subject in what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to The State.
Police responded to a call of shots fired at 10:13 p.m. at the corner of Lincoln and Gervais Streets. Nearby, as they were responding to the call, two police vehicles collided at the intersection of Park and College Streets. Officer Case and USCPD Officer Sergeant Allan Bolin were taken to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital.
According to university spokesperson Wes Hickman, Bolin is in stable condition.
