Pedestrian struck in fatal collision

According to Columbia Police Department a pedestrian hit by a car Wednesday night in the 300 block of Gervais Street has died from his injuries, WIS reports.  According to officers the male victim was "unlawfully in the roadway" when he was hit.  He was announced dead Thursday morning after suffering severe injurious. 

Anderson woman found chained for two months

An Anderson woman who had been missing since August was found Thursday morning alive and chained in a metal container, The State reports. According to WIS, the unidentified woman was found "chained like a dog" when someone heard her banging on the metal container she was kept in for two months. The suspect Todd Kohlepp, a registered sex offender in Arizona, was arrested.   

Man charged with attempted murder in connection with shooting

According to Richland County Sheriff's deputies, William Jiles has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting that occurred Thursday morning, WIS reports. The victim was shot in the torso and has been taken to the hospital with severe injuries. The incident happened off of Flora Drive around 9 a.m.
